As part of a drive to improve quality and encourage innovation, Red River Group has created new roles which will enhance our operations in both the UK and Ireland as delivered for the Group by Red River Archaeology Ltd and Rubicon Heritage Services Ltd. The first two of these roles is Quality and Compliance Manager which has been taken on by Carmelita Troy and Geomatics and IT Manager which has been taken on by Jonathan Millar. Carmelita has recently been appointed to the role of Quality & Compliance Manager. She is responsible for implementing and maintaining an ISO Integrated Management System for Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety Management for Red River Archaeology Group. Her main duties include, assisting in the development of company processes and procedures, internal audits, quality control on documents, compiling tender quality submissions, and engaging with suppliers, subcontractors and clients. Carmelita has been with Rubicon Heritage Services since 2006. During this time, she has been the in-house osteo-archaeologist reporting and consulting on large scale commercial projects in both the UK and Ireland. Since 2017, she has been responsible for overseeing all aspects of Rubicon’s post-excavation services. In this capacity, she manages costs, budgets, specialists, deadlines, and client relationships. Jonathan has recently been appointed to the role of Geomatics and IT Manager and will co-ordinate, unify and enhance the overlapping departments of IT, Survey and Graphics with the aim of improving quality and efficiencies. Jonathan has been with Rubicon Heritage Services since 1999. During this time, he has worked through the company beginning as a Field Archaeologist with survey skills, developing within the company as a digital Archaeological Illustrator and becoming Graphics Manager in 2005. Jonathan has overseen the creation of Visual Arts products by Rubicon for projects in both the UK and Ireland, directing every aspect from preparation of initial site survey data to design of popular book publications. At peak, Jonathan managed a full-time team of eight archaeological illustrators, all of whom were trained in Adobe digital illustration techniques in-house. Since 2008, he has also been responsible for overseeing all aspects of Rubicon’s IT Network, infrastructure and systems. In this capacity he manages costs, budgets, hardware, software, and compliance.
