With over 15 years’ experience in commercial archaeology Barry has led a range of large-scale projects from infrastructural schemes to housing/industrial developments in Ireland and the UK; with a proven ability to operate within strict timescales and budgets. He has extensive experience of excavation techniques and strategies specific to wetland, urban, rural, and built heritage, delivering projects dating from the Upper Palaeolithic to the late Victorian period. He has amassed considerable experience of geoarchaeology with both field and laboratory work. His research focus is on iron smelting/working, presenting research papers on the subject as well as authoring numerous analytical reports.
